Clarks Landing Boat Sales was launched on the shores of the Manasquan River in Point Pleasant, NJ back in 1981. When Robert Truesdale, Sr., purchased a thriving marina in this seaside town, he never envisioned that the business would grow to be the multi-million dollar operation that it is today. His son, George, and nephew, Jeff, have worked together for 25 years to create a showcase for world-class boats, equipment and facilities, and an organization committed to optimum customer service. The expansion of the business really took off when Clarks Landing's relationship with Sea Ray began in 1994. Managing Partner, Jeff Truesdale, remembers receiving a phone call at that time from Dwight Cobble at Sea Ray about an opportunity to become a Sea Ray dealer at the Lake Hopatcong, NJ store. "I think we told Dwight to start shipping the boats to us before we even signed the dealer agreement! It's been a great partnership ever since," recalls Jeff. Since that time, Clarks Landing has become the premier Sea Ray dealer in the mid-atlantic region, serving the Chesapeake Bay area. The main showroom in Chester, MD opened in March of 1999. A second property was acquired in Shady Side, MD in May 2001 (now the Shady Side Marine Center). Additionally, an on-water Marine Service Center was purchased in September 2007 and a new Shady Side expansion was completed in October 2007. Clarks Landing has been the recipient of Sea Ray Sales and Achievement Awards for top sales since 1997 and was named the largest independent dealer in the world for 2007 and the second largest in 2008. They have been recognized as one of Boating Industry's Top 100 Dealers and have received Mercury Marine's CSI Award in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Clarks Landing has also achieved Sea Ray Ambassador Dealer status for the past six years. Click here for more information on the history of the original Clarks Landing. | |
